REI

REI has always had a reputation for being a great place to work.  Laura Thompson, a 23 year old REI Supervisor from Atlanta, has had a couple of personal experiences to support that reputation.  Laura, who currently works at the Northlake location of REI, recently had a weekend adventure with three of her coworkers.  This type of trip is encouraged by REI. The group of REI employees spent the weekend back packing on Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia.  The previous year, Laura and company back backed in the mountains of western North Carolina. 

Laura said this year's trip was fantastic, especially after the hectic opening of the new store at Northlake.  After covering 12 miles in one day down in Georgia, Laura said going into the ocean was a fantastic feeling physically and emotionally.  Because she only uses gear sold at REI, Laura said she feels confident assisting customers.   As a matter of fact, Laura related that even prior to working here, all of her camping gear camp from REI.  You can visit Laura at 9755 Northlake Centre Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28216.  704-921-0320. www.REI.com.
