Do you long for the day when you can tack on those extra few miles? Your goal is to complete your first triathlon. Will you achieve it? What does your stride say about your life – are you walking tall, confident that your body is as healthy as it can be? Or, can you tell that a greater dedication to fitness would make all the difference in the way you feel about yourself?

If you’re asking yourself these questions, you’ll be delighted to know you’re not alone, and your answers may lie in programs like Velocity's Adult Fitness. Amber Burke says competition is not just against the clock or other competitors, it can also be against yourself. She should know. Burke is not only the center director of Velocity Sports Performance but also a former college athlete who played soccer and softball, both highly competitive sports.

“Velocity's Adult Fitness program is designed to tap into anyone's "inner athlete," said Burke. “We use many of the same techniques collegiate and professional level strength and conditioning coaches use to help people of all levels of fitness realize goals and find success- regardless of the metric one uses to define success.” Velocity trains people from all backgrounds and with various training goals. From the weekend flag football warrior to the elite marathon runner, the staff at Velocity Sports Performance has the knowledge and expertise to enhance the performance of anyone who desires such results.

Velocity Adult Fitness is a group fitness class taught by degreed and certified strength and conditioning coaches. No two classes are the same. Participants of these classes have an added benefit to getting in shape: here they find motivation from the coach and others in the class who are also there to have fun, find success and experience a unique workout.

“We take a lot of the methodology we use with younger athletes, like ladders and hurdles and sled and Olympic lifting equipment, and rather than focus on technique, we focus on making it fun and fitness-focused,” said Burke.” Cardio and strength stations elicit an accelerated heart rate, but at Velocity Sports Performance it’s always going to be in a different form to keep it fun.” Four to five people in a group with a collegiate level strength and conditioning coach gives a whole new meaning to the traditional pep talk, and gets participants ready to get fit. Bodywise Personal Training is also available which offers private, one-on-one training sessions.
