ADDITIONAL DETAILS AND SAFETY INFORMATION

While this is a timed event, the purpose is for the kids to have FUN and encourage them to exercise regularly. This is NOT a highly competitive event. Safety is paramount for all participants. Because of this, the transition area (going from swim to bike and bike to run) will be staffed with trained volunteers. These volunteers are there to ensure your child's helmet is secured and they can start the bike safely. On the course, we will have monitors to ensure the kids do not get lost. And, should any of the children have a tumble, someone will be there to assist. We will also have medics on site.

Our philosophy is that kids have plenty of chances to compete. This is an event to encourage each child to do their best. Our goal is that every child should feel they have accomplished something valuable by participating.

As advertised, regardless of your child's level of fitness, they can complete this event. No matter what, upon completion, your child will be able to say, "I am a triathlete."

Also, we will provide some snacks and drinks for the participants. Again, we want the kids to get the feel of being in an event like this so they will continue.

Supervision:
The event promoters will provide trained volunteers and medics to monitor, direct and assist any child as needed.

Safety Rules:
• No child will be allowed to participate without a certified bicycle helmet.
• Parents are NOT allowed in the transition area or on the course. The event will provide monitors to direct and assist my child if needed.

The Waiver:
In consideration of the acceptance to the Carolina Kids' Triathlon, I waive all claims for myself, any children registered under this registration, my heirs and assignees against the Carolina Kids' Triathlon, Peak Publishing, LLC and all Carolina Kids Triathlon Series sponsors, promoters and volunteers for injury or illness which may result from my participation. I attest that my child is in proper physical condition to compete in this race and risks associated therewith. I also give my permission for the free use of my child's picture in any written account, broadcast or telecast of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand that if the race and/or event is canceled because of any circumstances beyond the control of the race committee and sponsors including but not limited to hazardous weather conditions or government ban, my entry fee will not be refunded. I understand that I will be charged $30 if I do not return the Champion Chip to the Timing Company after the race. I also understand that my child must complete the event in under 60 minutes. Also, no child will be allowed to participate without a certified bicycle helmet. I understand that parents are NOT allowed in the transition area or on the course. The event will provide monitors to direct and assist my child if needed.
