Q: What is your athletic background?

A:
Sports and fitness have always been a part of my life. I grew up with a very active family so we were always encouraged to be involved in something. As an adult I took up running and found it to be a wonderful release and fundamental to my overall health and fitness.

Q: What is your typical weekly fitness routine?

A:
I'm an extremely high energy person. There is rarely a day when I don't do something active. Three to four times a week I'm in the gym focusing mostly on a hard cardio workout, running 30 minutes, and pushing myself to a four mile run. After cardio, I core train using a fitball and free weights. I rarely stop moving! If I'm not in the gym, I'm outside running or walking.

Q: What motivates you to be consistent with your exercise routine?

A:
I am 41 years old and have a 16 month old son - that motivates me the most! I also recognized that working out is the one time I get to truly focus on myself, and not have any interruptions. I live for that energy boost and it keeps my mind sharp.

Q: What is your typical daily diet?
A:
I do not diet. I stay realistic about my food and what I eat, and I never deprive myself. I workout so that I can enjoy the foods I love.

Q: What diet advice would you offer our readers?
A:
Exercise regularly and be proud of it. Be realistic and never starve yourself. Moderation, activity , and movement are key to my diet and lifestyle.

Q: What role does your family play in your health regimen?
A:
My family motivates me to live a long, healthy life. I have to be sure my son will always have a healthy mother. My goal is to spoil his children one day.
