What type of Athletics are you involved in?
I cheer for my school and we are always doing conditioning during practice. I play tennis when I can and thats my favorite way to get a good work out.
Tell us about your weekly exercise regimen.
No matter what I try to get in atleast 30-45 minutes of exercise a day. I work out with my trainer, Ed Ghaleb, three times a week for an hour or hour and half. We switch off doing lower, upper, and core body work. When I work out by myself, I usually do the eliptical because I enjoy it. Its easy if you want it to be, or you can make it challenging. I think its the perfect machine to work out on!
Do you use a personal trainer? Why?
Yes I do. You get a different work out at Bodywise with at trainer. There are certain things I wouldn’t think of doing to tone certain areas if it wasn’t for my trainer. It really helps so that when you have time open you can do some of the work outs at home as well. Plus its always good to have some motivation so you don’t give up!
What is your diet like?
I am for eating what you want, but in porportion. However the foods I like are very healthy. I enjoy salads, sushi, grilled chicken and fish. I stay away from red meat just because I dont prefer it. I only eat Italian every once in awhile, but I never deprive myself of anything because that just makes me want it more! I drink a lot of water throughout the day and I dont drink sodas. Also I try to not eat after seven-seven thirty but thats only if I’m being really good. If I’m hungry at night I drink a glass of skim milk. It always satisfies my hunger and its healthy for you!
What do you use as motivation to keep yourself fit?
I just know that I am in business where being fit is your job. I am a proffessional model and I want to look my best when I show up for jobs so that whomever I am working for is glad to have me. Also knowing that I will be competing in Miss Teen USA which is televised in a few months helps me stay focused. For every day life though, I know that you feel better when you’re body is at its best. I am more confident when I have been staying fit and that makes me happier. It feels good to know you’re are doing something good for your body.
Tell us about some of your accomplishments with Beauty Pageants?
I have only competed in two pageants my whole life. It was the same pageant as well. The first year I was fourth runner up and I won the swimsuit award. I was also asked to appear in a pageant magazine. Last October I won Miss NC Teen USA and also the photogenic award.
What are your goals for the future?
My goals for the future are to do my absolute best at Teen USA and come out of it with an amazing oppurtunity. My main goal in life is to be an actress and I am gradually trying to reach that point. It would be wonderful to model for a few more years then branch into acting. I just want to be able to take all the oppurtunities that come my way. I really know what I want to do with my life and I have since a young age! |
