This
past January, Charlotte Institute of Rehabilitation,
Carolinas Physical Therapy Network and CMC-Mercy Rehabilitation
Center came together under one name – Carolinas
Rehabilitation.
The new name was chosen to provide one identity for
the wide variety of rehabilitation services offered.
Whether you need intensive inpatient care for a stroke
or brain injury or less-intensive outpatient care for
back pain or even headaches, Carolinas Rehabilitation
offers exceptional, comprehensive services that meet
your needs.
A slogan – ‘within your reach’ –
was also created to accompany the new name. With the
aid of nationally recognized, expert staff, your rehabilitation
goals are truly ‘within your reach’ at Carolinas
Rehabilitation. And your care can be delivered ‘within
your reach’ of your home or work – Carolinas
Rehabilitation currently offers 11 convenient locations,
with more planned for late 2006.
Inpatient care
Carolinas Rehabilitation includes one of the largest
freestanding, non-profit inpatient rehabilitation centers
in the nation, located adjacent to Carolinas Medical
Center. Besides offering specialized, personalized care,
this inpatient center is also a teaching facility, with
one of the largest physiatric medical staffs in the
Southeast.
Our inpatient services meet the needs of individuals
living with spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke,
cancer and other traumatic and non-traumatic injuries
and diseases. We also serve patients of all ages, including
children under 12 years old.
Outpatient care
With outpatient locations throughout Mecklenburg and
several surrounding counties, Carolinas Rehabilitation
provides convenient outpatient care in the areas of
physical, occupational, speech, vocational, hand and
spine therapy, industrial services rehabilitation, pediatric
care and sports medicine.
