Raving Brands, one of America’s largest and fastest
growing restaurant companies and parent company to Moe’s
Southwest Grill, Mama Fu’s Asian House, Planet
Smoothie and Monkey Joe’s in the Charlotte area,
announces its $2 million, two-year commitment to the
National Center for Missing & Exploited Children®
(NCMEC) as its charitable and fundraising partner through
2008. Along with becoming NCMEC’s largest annual
corporate donor, Nick Smith, owner of Charlotte area
Moe's Southwest Grills, is also leveraging its extensive
network of restaurants to help increase safety and awareness
throughout all of the communities it serves from coast
to coast.
“The idea of one of our franchisees having to look
a parent or guardian in the eye and tell them we did
not take every measure to ensure their child’s
safety while in one of our locations is unthinkable
to us,” said Brian Curin, vice president of marketing
for Raving Brands and an official NCMEC Ambassador.
Additionally, all concepts will incorporate NCMEC’s
photo partner program to aid in the recovery of missing
children. The geographically-tailored posters will be
sent monthly to each location and, for maximum effectiveness,
will contain photos of children either missing from
or believed to be in their area.
Charlotte area Moe's will be donating a portion of sales
of their popular "Joey Bag of Doughnuts" burrito
for this worthwhile cause. So, to help support child
safety and the National Center for Missing and Exploited
Children, come into any area Moe's and enjoy a "Joey
Bag of Doughnuts" Burrito during the month of May.
In addition to the help area Moe's franchises will be
providing the NCMEC, Nick Smith will be getting his
Monkey Joe's indoor play center involved with the campaign
as well. Book a party during May, and a portion of the
proceeds from Monkey Joe's will go to the National Center
for Missing and Exploited Children.
