When you shop for insurance, you generally focus on price, products and performance. Mike Goodman understands that and, on January 1, 2005, he made a commitment to deliver the best of all three as he launched the Michael A. Goodman Insurance Agency of Nationwide Insurance.
It’s is a full-service agency providing solutions for all lines of insurance including commercial, home, auto, individual and group health, life insurance, 401k’s and IRA’s.
A native Charlottean and UNC Charlotte graduate, Mike began his insurance career while he was still in college. As a customer service representative for a local Nationwide Insurance Agency, he learned that, “One of the biggest complaints in the industry comes from people who get a quote and then the rate changes. It comes down to customer service – they want someone who is accountable. I plan to be in this business a long time,” said Mike. “Most of my business comes from referrals so it’s important for us to make sure our clients are satisfied.”
That’s why accountability is at the heart of the agency’s mission statement: “We strive to provide customers with insurance products and services that enhance their quality of life, consistently exceed their expectations and foster long-term relationships.”
Toward that end, Mike and his team of agents believe they should lead by example and through community involvement. In 2006, the agency became a Platinum Sponsor of the Carolina Wellness Coalition. Mike said, “I believe that promoting a healthy lifestyle is very important. I had many offers to join or sponsor other organizations but the CWC, I feel, is the best fit for my agency.”
“Life, health and disability insurance companies determine your insurance rates not only by your age, but also by your health status,” Mike explained. “By being a part of the CWC, I feel I can promote living a healthy lifestyle to my clients and help them get the best insurance rate and product possible.”
The agency also was involved recently with a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Mike was a candidate in the local Man & Woman of the Year campaign, which raised funds to provide patient services and to support research for people with leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and myeloma. “We had a great response from my agency’s clients and our friends,” Mike said.
