Dr. Elizabeth Rostan and the staff at Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery Center (DCSC) provide expert level service in the field of Dermatologic Cosmetic Surgery Center. Established in 2001, the practice provides the latest innovations in laser and cosmetic surgery to the Charlotte area with optimal patient safety Dr. Rostan is Board Certified by the American Academy of Dermatology. She received her medical degree from UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Following an internship at Emory University, Dr. Rostan completed training in dermatology at Duke University. After residency, Dr. Rostan pursued further specialized training in the field of laser surgery and dermatologic cosmetic surgery in La Jolla, California where she completed a fellowship with Drs. Richard Fitzpatrick and Mitchell Goldman.
Recognized as an expert in the field of laser surgery, Dr. Rostan has lectured and trained physicians nationally and internationally in the field of laser and cosmetic surgery. She has been involved in many clinical studies of innovative laser technologies as well as the author of many scientific articles, abstracts and textbook chapters.
At the forefront of cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Rostan was the first to offer Fraxel, Thermage and Portrait in the Charlotte area. In addition to general dermatology, Dr. Rostan provides a number of specialized treatments using the latest advances in laser technology. The doctor and her staff are experts in the treatment of broken capillaries and veins, rosacea and sun damage including brown spots and wrinkles.
Unlike many of the “medspas” that have emerged seemingly everywhere in the past decade, Dr. Rostan is on-site for all laser treatments performing the treatments herself or directly supervising staff specifically trained in laser treatments so that clients can be assured of a high level of safety. The vast majority of DCSC clientele are physician and patient referrals. In addition to administering care to general dermatology patients, DCSC offers physician-dispensed cosmeceuticals, medical grade peels, facials and Vibradermabrasion – considered by many as superior to standard microdermabrasion.
Prior to adding new items to her family of products, lasers or procedures to the practice, Dr. Rostan completes extensive research to ensure their safety and efficacy. Dr. Rostan and Cosmetic Consultant Tami Hess spend a great deal of time educating clients about cosmetic options including Botox, fillers, lasers and other cosmetic procedures that are frequently in the news so clients can make properly informed decisions. Dr. Rostan offers her clients many skin care choices from prevention of aging and sun damage to reversing or minimizing existing damage. DCSC can also work with patients to find treatment plans that work within their busy lifestyles. Most treatments offered at DCSC require no downtime so that patients can often return to active lifestyles immediately following procedures.
Often clients find that no matter how much they exercise, some areas tend to pocket unwanted fat. Therefore Dr. Rostan also offers liposculpture for these problem areas. The procedure is minimally invasive with very little downtime and fast noticeable results.
In addition to her qualifications as a medical doctor Dr. Elizabeth Rostan is the 2006 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year; giving back to the community she serves.
