Yoga Flex
Yoga- it's one of America's favorite ways to work out, strengthen and tone. For many, yoga is the difference between living, and living well. As millions of people have discovered the benefits of yoga, tools that help improve the yoga experience and enhance workouts are becoming increasingly available.
At local studio Yoga Flex, clients can participate in yoga classes and a strength and conditioning program using exercise bands. NFL Hall of Famer and Yoga Flex teacher Joe DeLamielleure knows better than anyone how important using exercise bands can be to staying injury free. The former lineman has been using the bands for years.
"I was fortunate to play my entire career of 14 years without a serious injury and I never missed a start due to injury," said DeLamielleure. "Early in my career I recognized the benefits of flexibility and stretching workout. I use these exercise bands every day."
Now, DeLamielleure is pleased to offer the general public a system similar to that used by professional baseball, football and basketball teams as well as major colleges and universities throughout the country.
"The bands strengthen not only the muscle, but the joint as well," he said. "Traditional weight lifting strengthens the muscle and can make your joints susceptible to injury." Said DeLamielleure, " Your joints are slaves to your muscles. If you don't have good joint strength and mobility, you can hurt yourself more easily."
While Yoga Flex adds the benefits of strength training through Joe D Bands, the yoga instruction provided is among the best in Charlotte. As Karen Lemon, a current student, said, "
"I had no idea how my body, mind and soul would be transformed when I walked through the doors at YogaFlex. I'm not saying I found a miracle cure or the fountain of youth there, but I will tell you that I feel better than I have in years".
Yoga flex offers the services of a stellar yoga studio, but also features this unique and effective strength training exercise regime and conditioning classes as well. Classes are offered on a group or individual basis.
