If
you walk into the new South Charlotte offices of Ditesheim
Cosmetic Surgery and think you are in a high end Upper
East Side salon by mistake, that would make Dr. Jeffrey
Ditesheim happy.
Dr. Ditesheim spent many months researching cosmetic
surgery offices around the country to find the perfect
combination of privacy, efficiency, comfort, and safety.
His vision was to design an office with the patient
in mind. Attention to details such as color, shape,
space, and sound were designed to put the patient at
ease from the time they walk through the door through
recovery.
Dr. Ditesheim graduated at the top of his University
of Pennsylvania class before attending the New York
University School of Medicine. He continued his education
by completing his general surgery training and research
fellowship at the Wake Forest University Medical Center.
Finally, Dr. Ditesheim took his plastic surgery training
at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical
School in Boston. The Robert H. Ivy Society, Plastic
Surgery Educational Foundation Scholarship Competition
and inclusion in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons
are among the numerous honors Dr. Ditesheim has earned
over his career.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Ditesheim
and his office manager, Jan Stanbrough, have put together
very large teams of Race for the Cure walkers raising
thousands of dollars. What is so special about Team
Ditesheim is his 100 + person team is made up of breast
cancer survivors. Also, you will find Dr. Ditesheim
working out with his personal trainer, Jeff George of
Fitness Solutions, three or four days per week.
By design, the staff of Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery is
small, so patients can become familiar with everyone.
It is not unusual for the whole staff to have some interaction
with each patient. The practice focuses on cosmetic
and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and body.
Aesthetician services are available on site. Ditesheim
Cosmetic Surgery's staff offers home visits as part
of the recovery process. Also, a significant portion
of the practice is devoted to breast reconstruction
following breast cancer. With their intimate staff,
Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery wants to eliminate the inconveniences
and impersonality of a hospital.
Dr. Ditesheim explained to CHF that his philosophy was
not to do an extreme makeover. Instead, he wants his
patients to receive an excellent education about their
procedure, perform the surgery with technical excellence,
and each patient should have comfortable recovery. This
process will equal success. Many potential patients
are encouraged to take up an exercise program or quit
smoking prior to doing procedures as the healthier the
patient, the better to outcome of their surgery.
Empowerment is a word that is often mentioned around
Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery. Simply put, its all about
how you feel equals empowerment. That is why Dr. Ditesheim
takes so much time learning about his patients to learn
about each person's motivations and expectations. With
this dialogue, Dr. Ditesheim and his staff help each
patient meet their expectations and gain empowerment.
The new Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery offices fill Dr.
Ditesheim's vision of having a world class AAAA accredited
surgical suite and recovery facility in South Charlotte.
Dr. Ditesheim wants people to have their lives changed.
Perhaps that is why so many of his patients stay connected
long after their surgery.
